Hawks Go Green: Recycling Contest Kicks Off Oct. 1

The Howard School is competing in a recycling contest led by Lower School student leaders. The Howard School is the first school in Georgia to join this effort, joining 72 other schools across 19 states. All grade levels, faculty members, and parents are invited to bring in cans to not only support the LS students, but also support RECYCLING!

Cans can be dropped in bins near the school's entrance. The Howard School would like to thank M&M Recycling for bringing this project to the school's attention.

 

Volunteers for The Howard School Book Fair

Nov. 13-20

The Howard School Book Fair is right around the corner, and volunteer support is needed to help create a fun and successful event for students!

A variety of flexible shift options are available Nov. 13-20 throughout the book fair. Parents and community members are welcome to sign up for single time slots, half days, or full days depending on their availability.

Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 5-7:30 p.m.

Did you know that engaging in the arts can support brain development, emotional well-being, and learning? Join The Howard School on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 5-7:30 p.m. for the Arts + Health Laboratory’s Second Annual Convening at The Woodruff Arts Center to explore the exciting intersection of art, neuroscience, and human flourishing. As The Howard School continues to help advance neuroarts research and innovation in Atlanta, parents are invited to listen in on this inspiring conversation about the transformative power of the arts for children and adults alike. The school is playing a major role in this initiative. Way to go, Howard Hawks!

 

Save the Date: Join us for Grandparents & Special Friends Day

Friday, Nov. 20, from 9:00 a.m. to noon

The Howard School invites grandparents and special friends to save the date for Grandparents & Special Friends Day on Friday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon. This event offers a wonderful opportunity to welcome the special people in Lower School students’ lives for a morning on campus. Additional details and formal invitations will follow soon.

Volunteer Opportunity

The Parents Association is seeking parent volunteers to help with Grandparents & Special Friends Day.

Volunteers will greet arriving guests, assist with escorting visitors to event locations on campus, and provide general support throughout the morning.

Come and support senior athletes, enjoy concessions, and cheer on the volleyball team at Fall Sport Senior Night. Senior athletes in flag football, cross country, and volleyball will be honored in the gym on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m. The recognition will start after the JV volleyball game. The Varsity volleyball team will start their game after the recognition.

 
 

2027–28 Financial Aid Applications Are Open

Financial aid applications for the 2027–28 school year opened on Sept. 15. Families seeking financial assistance must complete The Howard School's Financial Aid Application through the FACTS Grant & Aid Website.

All financial aid applications and supporting materials must be fully submitted by Tuesday, Dec. 15.

Volunteer for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week

Oct. 19-23

The Parents Association wants to show appreciation to The Howard School's faculty and staff, who pour their hearts into supporting students every day! To show gratitude for their dedication, the Parents Association is planning a special Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week, but additional parent support is needed to make the week a success.  

A variety of flexible volunteer opportunities and drop-off shifts are available throughout the week to fit any schedule. A variety of volunteer opportunities and time slots are available. Parents who are interested in helping can review open roles and sign up through SignUpGenius.

 

Wings of Wisdom Grandparents Meeting

Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 9-10:30 a.m.

The Howard School's Wings of Wisdom (WOW) Grandparents Society invites grandparents to attend the upcoming Grandparents Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at The Howard School. This event offers an opportunity to connect, share in meaningful conversation, and explore ways grandparents can become involved in the school community.

Parents, if a student's grandparents were not entered into FACTS and did not receive an email invitation directly, families are encouraged to forward the WOW Grandparents Meeting registration link so grandparents can register.
