| | | Opt Out of R.O.A.R. The Howard School is proud to continue our partnership with Stanford University on the Rapid Online Assessment of Reading (R.O.A.R.) for the fourth year for our K-12. Through engaging, game-based tasks, students participate in a brief assessment that provides valuable insights into their reading and language skills. This helps our teachers better understand each student’s learning profiles. While Stanford only receives anonymous data for their research, we recognize that some families may prefer not to have their child participate in this kind of assessment or data collection. If you would like to opt out of the R.O.A.R. study or would like more information about Stanford's research, click the buttons below or email Matthew Westmoreland ([email protected]). |
| | | New Update! W.I.N.G.S. Aftercare, Morning Care, and Enrichment Clubs Details and schedules for W.I.N.G.S. After School Enrichment Clubs will be emailed to all families on Tuesday, Aug. 18. To allow families time to review the options together, registration will now open on Thursday, Aug. 20. Questions can be directed to W.I.N.G.S. staff by emailing [email protected]. |
| | Lights, Camera, The Howard School! A professional film crew will be on campus from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, Aug. 20, and Friday, Aug. 21, capturing the transformational power of a Howard School education. Throughout the two days, the crew will film authentic moments across campus, including classroom instruction, assistive technology in use, art, music, drama, P.E., athletics, recess and SPARK breaks, carpool, etc. The final video will become an important Admissions and Development resource. It will share the remarkable work of Howard School faculty and staff, as well as the growth, confidence, and joy of students, with prospective families, foundations, and new and returning donors. We encourage students to wear a Howard School T-shirt or other Howard spirit wear on both filming days, if possible. Students may also dress as they would for their yearbook photo: neat, comfortable, and camera-ready. Thank you for helping us showcase what makes The Howard School and our extraordinary community so special. |
| | Find Your Fit The Parent Association extends its gratitude to all who have already signed up to volunteer for the upcoming school year. There are volunteer opportunities available for every interest, skill set, and schedule across the school community. Families are invited to explore the open roles and find the right fit to get involved. |
