This week's edition of The Weekly marks the final newsletter for the 2025-26 school year. The next edition of The Weekly will start in mid-July.
Empowering Independence in the Classroom
As we approach the final days of the academic year, we are not only celebrating how much our students have grown, but also the tools they have unlocked to reach their full potential. At The Howard School, we believe that technology should be a bridge to independence—allowing our students to advocate for themselves and access grade-level material with confidence.
To learn more about how we use technology to level the playing field, read our latest blog post "How Assistive Technology Levels the Playing Field for Students with Language-Based Learning Differences."
Our goal is 100% participation in the Howard Fund, and we need your help to get there. The Howard Fund is the bridge that allows us to go above and beyond for our students. It closes the gap between tuition and total operating costs of our specialized programs, directly enhancing our ability to deliver an outstanding educational experience across our entire campus.
Thank you to the 45% of families who have already joined in! Every gift, of any size, makes a difference and brings us closer together as a community. Join us and help us reach 100%!
While the school year is winding down and summer break is just ahead, it’s already time to begin looking ahead to another exciting season of Howard Athletics. Registration for Middle School and High School fall sports typically takes place in late July and early August, prior to the first day of school.
If your student is interested in participating in a fall sport or if you have questions about athletics for next year, contact Assistant Athletics Director Cat Stansbury([email protected]).

Final Week: Rescue Your Student’s Missing Items
The Lost & Found has reached peak “how did all this get here?” status—hoodies, sweaters, long-sleeve tees, water bottles, jackets, and more are waiting to be reunited with their rightful owners.
The Lost & Found is located in the gym lobby—stop by and take a quick look. This is the last week to check for your child's missing items. Anything left behind after the last day of school (Friday, May 22) will be donated to a local charity.
We Want Your Feedback
On Friday, May 15, you should have received an email from our Admissions Office with a survey about parent education, afterschool, and enrichment programs for next year. Your feedback directly influences what we offer—so this is a meaningful opportunity to make sure our programming reflects your family’s needs. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, and The Howard School appreciates families' partnership on this project.
Register for Summer Programs Before It's Too Late!
Have you finalized your student's summer plans for June yet? Spots are open for Academic Ignition and Summer Safari to offer creative ways to keep your students on track for the year ahead. Summer Safari is for students in grades K-9, and the Academic Ignition program is open to rising grades 10-12.
Immediately following the Eighth-Grade Celebration Breakfast at The Howard School, there will be an After-School Celebration at Puttshack Atlanta Midtown hosted by the eighth-grade parents, 1115 Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 (near the school in Interlock).
If any parents are unable to make it and would like their child to attend the after-school gathering, contact the following room parents:
