Happy (almost) Halloween! 🎃

What a fantastic month it’s been at The Howard School! Just last week, we celebrated several athletic championships, a fun high school movie night, and a lively middle school dance. We’re now wrapping up the month with our Lower School parade this Friday, the 31st!

Carpool Safety: Patience Keeps Our Students Safe

We know mornings can be a rush and afternoons can feel just as busy. Everyone’s trying to get to work or the next stop in their day—but during carpool, safety has to come first.

No passing in carpool. Ever. Even if the line feels slow, passing a car that’s unloading or loading children—especially on the left—creates a serious safety risk. A child could step out unexpectedly, and a few saved seconds simply aren’t worth that risk.

To keep everyone safe, please:

  • Follow all posted signs and the directions of staff and security officers.

  • Do not use your phone while in carpool so you can remain alert.

  • Ensure children are properly seated and ready to exit or enter the vehicle safely.

  • Use only designated drop-off and pick-up zones during approved times.

  • Please review these rules with anyone who drops off or picks up your child.

Our Security Team will be conducting spot checks, and teachers on duty will note unsafe behavior so we can address concerns directly.

Thank you for your cooperation and for modeling patience and mindfulness for our students.

🎃 Halloween Parade!

Join us Friday, October 31 at 8:45am for our spooktacular Lower School Halloween Parade! Parents can line up along the front carpool line to cheer on our students as they show off their creative costumes.

Please send your child dressed and ready to parade — and pack a change of clothes if needed for later in the day. It’s a full school day, but parents are welcome to check out their child early after the parade.

8th Grade Visit to the High School!

On Wednesday, October 29, our 8th-grade students will have the exciting opportunity to visit the High School during the school day. During this visit, students can ask questions and connect with a panel of current high school students.

Although this event is strictly for students, we hope it opens the door for conversations between parents and students as they plan the next chapter of their student’s academic journey. If a family member would like to visit our High School for a tour, please RSVP to either our October 28 or December 2 Open House.
