|  | |  | | | | A Successful Summer at The Howard School Summer at The Howard School has been awesome; I can’t believe there are only 4 weeks left! We had one hundred and seventeen Summer Safari campers here for the month of June, twenty-two teachers here for Professional Development, and thirty-two High School students from Howard and beyond here to brush up on study skills, take the ACT, and practice for their driver’s license test. We resurfaced our driveway and parking lots (it’s like driving on silk now!). Our chickens laid their first eggs. Our garden grew huge squash, tons of tomatoes and the prettiest zinnias in town. |

Friday, August 8th | 11:00am – 12:00pm Kick off the 2025–26 school year with the Lower School Meet and Greet! Students and parents will gather outside the main building lobby, where you’ll learn who your teacher is and where your classroom is located. From there, it’s time to visit your classroom, meet your teachers, and start the year off with the information you need! After your classroom visit, head to the main building lobby, where you can stop by tables to connect with:
🏥 Our school nurse (to drop off medication and meet her)
🚗 The carpool team
🕓 And get info on W.I.N.G.S, our after-school care program! |

| | | Your Middle School Teachers Can’t Wait to Meet You! All 6th, 7th, or 8th grade students and parents are invited to join us on Friday, August 8th for the Middle School Meet & Greet! 🕑 Schedule:
🎒 6th Grade – 2:00pm to 2:30pm
🎒 7th Grade – 2:30pm to 3:00pm
🎒 8th Grade – Drop in anytime between 2:00pm and 3:00pm Start by meeting us outside the main building lobby to learn who your teacher is and where your classroom is located. When it’s your grade’s turn, you'll head inside to explore the classroom and meet the teacher. After your classroom visit, stop by the main building lobby to meet our school nurse, connect with the athletics department, chat with the carpool team, and learn more about W.I.N.G.S., our after-school enrichment programs. |

| | | | Welcome New Families — Build Your Howard Community! Brand new to The Howard School? Then don't miss our New Family Festival on Saturday, August 2nd from 10:00am to 12:00pm! This event is for all grade levels and your whole family, including siblings and grandparents! Here’s what you can expect:
🎈 Lower & Middle School students – Have a blast with yard games, get your face painted, enjoy sweet treats, and have plenty of laughs.
🎮 High School students – Hang out inside and outside our Young High School with snacks and age-appropriate games. It’s the perfect way to meet other new families, explore our campus, and kick off your Howard experience. |

| | | | 📚 Monday, August 11th – First Day of School! We hope you and your student had an awesome summer! Now it’s time to dust off those backpacks, sharpen those pencils, and get ready for a fresh new year of learning, friendships, and fun. We can’t wait to welcome our Hawks back to campus as we soar into the 2025–26 school year! Drop-off begins at 7:30am.
School starts at 8:30am (except for Wednesdays, read below).
School ends at 3:00pm.
Carpool/pick-up are from 3:00pm-3:15pm. |

| | Reminder: Delayed Start on Wednesdays Wednesday, August 20th, students will begin their day with a 9:30am drop-off and classes will begin at 10:00am. The day will end at the some time as usual. Need to drop off earlier?
No problem! Morning childcare will be available through our W.I.N.G.S program for a fee. Students will enjoy themed activities to get their minds moving before school officially starts. Be on the lookout for an email in the coming weeks with more details about aftercare and morning care registration. |
